OUR GOAL

The Claretian Communications Tambaram, Chennai is the activity of the Claretian Province of Chennai. “He who controls the media controls the minds of the public.” In order to sow the seed of the Gospel in the mind of the Public through media the Claretian Communication was established in the year 1994.

Claretian Communications is a member of Claret Publishing Group, a consortium of the publishing houses of the Claretian Missionaries all over the world: Bangalore, Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Chennai, Macau, Madrid, Manila and Sao Paolo.

OUR ACTIVITIES

1. PRINT MEDIA

A. PUBILSHING OF TAMIL BIBLE DIARY

The Claretian Communications released Tamil Bible Diary for the first time in Tamil Nadu in the year 2000. From then every year 40,000 copies all over India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Canada, Germany, Italy, Aran Nations, and the United Kingdom. To promote a community reading of the word of God in BCC groups a low-cost edition was published every year.

A1. Children’s Bible Diary Edition

The commission for the Claretian communications team has planned to bring out the new children’s Bible diary edition for the un-evangelized mass children in the year 2019-2020 and the first Children’s Bible Diary Edition was released in the year 2020. From then every year children’s Bible Diary Edition’s printed and distributed all over India and Sri Lanka.

B. TAMIL COMMUNITY BIBLE WITH COMMENTARY

It was widely felt by the Tamil Bible Scholars that a Pastoral Bible in Tamil with commentaries was the genuine need of the hour. So, in answer to the need the First edition of the Tamil Community Bible with commentary was brought out in the year 2009 and it was the joint venture of Tamil Nadu Bishop’s Council (TNBCLC) and the Claretian communications. As of now, it has been reprinted six editions each edition numbering 30,000 copies. At present the Tamil Bible Scholars have felt that a Pastoral Bible in Tamil which is published is needed to be revived its commentaries. It is under preparation and planning to publish the Tamil Community/Pastoral Bible in coming year.

C. PUBLISHING OF THE BOOKS & DESIGNING WORKS

Publishing books to enrich the spiritual life of the people of God is another priority of the communications. So far around thirty books were published both in Tamil and English by the communications.

2. DIGITAL MEDIA

A. RELEASING OF THE AUDIO AND VIDEO SONGS

Claretian Communications initially released catholic devotional songs in the form of Audio & Video Cassettes and in the form of CDs later. The communication released more than 150 catholic devotional songs which are very much used in the Liturgy today and it is continuing its ministry by releasing many more catholic devotional video songs in YouTube.

B. YOUTUBE CHANNEL

Social Media is the biggest mediums to reach people all over the world. Therefore, the Claretian Communications started new You Tube Channel in the year 2019. Today the channel is broadcasting various programs like daily and Sunday homilies, Bible Readings, Bible classes, Holy Eucharist, Adoration, spiritual songs, Liturgical, Biblical and Catechetical programs.
